Although small, some kinds of spiders have a can or a deadly poison. A student in Texas who was bit by a spider, ears to rot and even almost blind because his eyes were swollen up to 2 times normal.
Nikki Perez (21 years), Texas Christian University student suffered bite was on 20 September 2011 when she was picking her boyfriend, Eric Amarillo airport. Feeling something was not right, Nikki picked up the spider to brought to the doctor.
Based on the literature he had read Nikki, a spider that has a sign on his back like a violin is Brown Recluse spider (Loxosceles reclusa). Spiders of North American origin is so deadly, so Nikki decided to seek help.
On the way to the nearest clinic, Nikki felt the bite marks around his left ear started to swell. His skin was hardened and heat, indicating that the bite was not of ordinary spider and quite possibly be very serious.
Arriving at the clinic, the doctor just gave him anti-inflammatory steroids and Nikki asked to observe the development of the bite was over the next 2 weeks. But it was only in the car, Nikki felt her face began to swell, especially on the left side around the eyes.
"After a long time my eyes widened to the other. I'm going blind, it was terrible. Swelling spread to the entire head, although somewhat ease the pain that originally centered behind the ear," Nikki said as quoted from Dailymail, Wednesday (14 / 3/2012).
Nikki eventually had to be hospitalized because of the skin around the bite or necrosis hardens like rotting tissue. He was hospitalized for 5 days and 4 nights, and given steroids to address the inflammation that almost blinded him.
Some ear skin also had to be discarded because rot, so Nikki had to wear a bandage on his head until the next 3 weeks. After recovering, then Nikki could undergo surgery to repair a rotted ears.
Brown Recluse spiders are deadly in fact living in North America, but climate change makes it migrate to other areas in the vicinity. In 2020, this spider will easily be found in a number of states in the United States, including New York.
